Cause of Fire at Magic Kingdom's 'it's a small world' Attraction Confirmed

Disney has confirmed with WDWNT what caused the fire at “it’s a small world” in Magic Kingdom yesterday, July 1.

A guest’s personal phone charger caught on fire while on the ride—likely while loading or unloading. Cast Members reacted quickly and immediately put it out, and ride operations resumed shortly after the incident.

No one was injured.

A video of the incident, posted on Tiktok yesterday, July 1, shows guests evacuating the attraction. Cast Members can be seen in the loading area of the ride, and there is either smoke or extinguisher fumes filling the space. No guests were present in the area at the time of the video.
