The self-guided Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition Scavenger Hunt has returned to Walt Disney World for the 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. The “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure”-inspired search encourages guests to look for hidden Olaf figurines scattered throughout the World Showcase neighborhood of the park, and though the scavenger hunt has been held in years past, the Olaf novelties are hidden in (mostly) new locations this year. We’ve assembled a full guide to help you through this year’s search.

All Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition Scavenger Hunt Locations
Guests start the search by purchasing a scavenger hunt map at one of several locations throughout EPCOT. The map costs $9.99.
The guide contains an illustration of the World Showcase neighborhood of the park and lists all the locations at which guests can search for a hidden Olaf. The back of the map contains several themed stickers that guests can place on their corresponding location after finding that specific figurine.
Guests do not have to actually find all 13 hidden Olafs in order to redeem the final prize, which this year is one of four different “Frozen”-inspired sets of cookie cutters.
The scavenger hunt runs through the end of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays on December 30, 2023. Prizes can be redeemed through that date.
The American Adventure
The Olaf figurine in The American Adventure is hidden near the base of the pavilion’s grand Christmas tree.
It sits in a bed of greenery that’s been decorated with vibrant poinsettias for the holiday season.
Each Olaf figure appears on a sleigh that contains an accessory culturally relevant to the pavilion it’s in. The Olaf in The American Adventure stands beside a Kwanzaa kinara set.
Japan
The Olaf in the Japan Pavilion has been placed atop the rockwork that overlooks the koi pond, allowing you to say hello to some fish as you check another figure off your map.
It’s easily visible as you ascend the staircase leading to Katsura Grill. It’s located just to the left of one of the quick-service restaurant’s exterior markers.
This Olaf sits on a sleigh next to a Kagami mochi, which is a Japanese New Year decoration.
Morocco
Olaf is not too difficult to find in the Morocco Pavilion, as he sits at the base of a tree in a fenced-off flowerbed. You may even notice him by accident as you sit down on one of the surrounding benches.
Branches containing what appear to be green olives appear on the back of Olaf’s sleigh. Olives are a popular ingredient in Moroccan cuisine.
L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen
Looking for L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen’s branding will allow you to find this Olaf, as he appears just to the right of the kitchen’s marker.
He sits on his sleigh next to Dreidels and a white candle.
France
Olaf aptly appears in the hedge maze near the Plume et Palette perfume shop in the France Pavilion. There’s just something about a scavenger hunt and a hedge maze that fit hand in hand.
This Olaf appears alongside Yule logs, a traditional French holiday dessert. They’re referred to as “bûche de Noël” in French, directly translating to English as “Christmas log.”
United Kingdom
You can find Olaf in the United Kingdom Pavilion atop an exterior window of a shop. He has Christmas crackers to his left.
Canada
The Olaf figure is actually (comparatively) difficult to find in the Canada Pavilion. He’s visible from the bridge leading to Le Cellier Steakhouse. He sits on the stone pathway leading to the traditional stone cottage.
He’s joined by a group of hugging gingerbread men.
Mexico
The Mexico Pavilion Olaf can be found at the La Hacienda de San Angel restaurant. Just walk past the main entryway and look up, and you’ll find him sitting on a second-story balcony.
The balcony is decorated with a wreath. Olaf himself sits next to a flower pot decorated with poinsettias.
Norway
Olaf appears quite close to his quote-unquote “home” in the Norway Pavilion. He sits in the rockwork that’s just a bit left of the “Frozen Ever After” queue, next to a cascading waterfall.
His sleigh does not look at all out of place in the rocky Scandinavian terrain. He appears next to a small Yule goat, a straw decoration that’s a popular holiday symbol in northern Europe.
China
Look to the right of the Reflections of China attraction, and you’ll find Olaf sitting on the banks of the pond in the China Pavilion.
Chinese New Year lanterns, a symbol commonly associated with the Lunar New Year, are attached to the back of his sleigh.
Germany
Olaf appears outside a second-story Der Teddybar window in the Germany Pavilion.
He looks quite festive as he sits beneath a decorated garland and between bouquets of flowers. A glass jar filled with candy canes appears on his sleigh behind him.
Italy
The Olaf figure in the Italy Pavilion is hidden toward its front, appearing near the pavilion’s themed bridge.
He sits at the base of a beige staircase.
The Olaf in the Italy Pavilion takes inspiration from its France Pavilion counterpart, appearing alongside a cultural dessert. This figure sits next to a panettone, a traditional Italian holiday sweet bread served around Christmas and the New Year.
America Gardens Theater
The second of two Olaf figures in The American Adventure is located on the roof of the Fire & Drum Tavern turkey leg stand.
The “America Gardens Theater” Olaf sits on his sleigh next to the sheet music for “Jingle Bells,” a traditional Christmas song.
