It’s the most wonderful time of the year and the holiday fun is in full swing at the Universal Orlando Resort. There’s plenty of seasonal cheer in the parks and now guests can enjoy a little bit of the Christmas spirit inside the Red Coconut Club in CityWalk. The Red Coconut Club is located on the upper level of CityWalk and is open on select nights. The club is now decorated for the holiday season, so let’s take a look around.
The Red Coconut Club has gotten a bit of a holiday overlay this year, but it’s very minimal. If you visit the Green and Red Coconut Club last year, you might be underwhelmed by the decor this year. The Red Coconut Club did not get the full holiday overlay like last year, but there are still some garland and Christmas lights added through the venue. There are 3 bars in the club. 2 of them are located downstairs and one of them is upstairs. They all serve the same menu, but if one bar is crowded, be sure to check out the others. A lot of people don’t realize there is a bar upstairs, too.
There are a few areas around the club that could use a little more holiday cheer. Or maybe a lot more. Compared to the decorations from last year, some spots look very bare. Maybe the Grinch stole the decorations here.
The dance floor and the DJ booth seem to have the most decoration. The Christmas lights add a nice colorful glow to this part of the club.
A lot of the club’s original theming is visible again. The Red Coconut Club has always been an absolutely beautiful venue, so it is nice to see a bit of its original theme shining through, but we still miss the elaborate decor of last year’s club.
The second level is open and has a bar and an outdoor balcony. There’s also a good view of the dance floor from up here.
It feels a little Grinchy up here. Not just because of the lack of decorations, though. Most of the decorations are green with red hearts.
There are picnics tables, chairs, and tables set up around the second level.
Maybe we can use some of the heart decorations for a Valentine’s Day overlay in the future.
The club will offer no entertainment this season and at this time, there isn’t a menu, but the bar tenders can make you anything you request. The music is more techno and club rather than the holiday vibes we expected. The Red Coconut Club feels much more like a dance club than a lounge this year. Unfortunately, this season’s Red Coconut Club is a little underwhelming, but it is nice to see the venue open for the holidays. What do you think of the Red Coconut Club this year?
