Tonight is the first night of Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and with this all-new event comes brand-new, event-exclusive entertainment. One of those new shows is “Disney Holidays in Hollywood,” which features Kermit and Miss Piggy.
Disney Holidays in Hollywood
This star-studded show in Theater of the Stars is inspired by vintage Hollywood TV specials.
Theater of the Stars, located on Sunset Boulevard, usually hosts “Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage.” Part of the “Beauty and the Beast” set is used for “Disney Holidays in Hollywood.”
During the show, special guest stars make appearances, including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Princess Tiana, Belle, Minne Mouse, and Mickey Mouse. The human hosts are Brandy and L.B.
In addition to the “celebrities,” the show also includes a cast of singers, dancers, and a jazz band playing live music.
The show opens with a medley of holiday songs with some custom lyrics related to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Miss Piggy then leads the group in singing “Toyland” in honor of the gifts she loves getting.
There are occasional “commercial breaks” in the TV special when the hosts talk to the “live studio audience.”
After the first commercial, Tiana arrives to sing about why she loves the holidays and how she celebrates at Tiana’s Palace.
Mickey and Minnie perform a mashup of “O Christmas Tree” and “Deck the Halls.” They’re followed by Belle singing “As Long as There’s Christmas” from “Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas.”
The whole cast returns for a show-stopping number that combines several holiday songs.
