Captain Monica Rambeau has made her debut as a walkaround character in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. Monica, also known by the superhero name Photon in Marvel Comics, appears alongside Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel and Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel in honor of their new film “The Marvels.”

The trio stopped to greet guests on the tiered stage in the courtyard center of Avengers Campus.

Rather than a traditional meet and greet with a line, the characters were calling various guests up to talk to them and take photos.

Monica wears a black and white suit, while Carol and Kamala wear blue, red, and gold outfits.

Monica appeared in “Captain Marvel” as a child before returning to the franchise as an adult, portrayed by Teyonah Parris, in “WandaVision.” After interacting Wanda Maximoff’s “Hex,” Monica gained electromagnetic powers.

In “The Marvels,” the powers of three individuals become entangled and they start switching places.

“The Marvels” acts as a sequel to “Captain Marvel,” which introduced Carol Danvers, but also follows up on Monica’s story and the end of the “Ms. Marvel” Disney+ series.

“The Marvels” hit theaters on November 10, 2023. It was directed by Nia DaCosta, who co-wrote the screenplay with Megan McDonnell and Elissa Karasik. In addition to Parris as Monica, Brie Larson as Carol, and Iman Vellani as Kamala, it stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Zawe Ashton as Dar-Benn.
