Not surprising anyone, the Italy-inspired food booth, Tuscany Holiday Kitchen, has arrived at the 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays with an entirely new menu. While our hopes aren’t high for any of these dishes, we’re going to eat and review them, so you don’t have to.

Food:

• 🆕 Montanara: Fried House-Made Pizza Dough with Pomodoro Sauce, Parmesan and Fresh Basil – $9.00
• 🆕 Dolce Pizza: Fried House-Made Pizza Dough with Sugar and Cinnamon – $7.50
• 🆕 Farfelle Salmone Affumicato: Farfalle Pasta with Smoked Salmon and Cream Sauce – $10.00
• 🆕 Torta Caprese: Flourless Chocolate Torta with Chocolate Sauce and Vanilla Cream – $8.50

Beverages:

• Prosecco – $11.50
• Moscato – $12.00
• Chianti – $11.00
• Italian White Sangria – $12.00
• Italian Red Sangria – $12.00
• Italian Margarita with Tequila and Limoncello – $12.00
• Peroni Pilsner (5.1% ABV) – $6.50 for 6 oz., $11.00 for 12 oz.

The Chianti returns as a wine option for the festival this year, having last been available in 2021.

*NEW* Montanara: Fried House-Made Pizza Dough with Pomodoro Sauce, Parmesan and Fresh Basil – $9.00

This is a ball of dough covered in a red sauce with parmesan and basil. Honestly, we’ve had WAY worse items from this booth before.

While this is on the basic side, and we’ve definitely had better red sauce before, this isn’t a terrible dish.

If you have a picky eater in your group, this may be a good dish for them.

*NEW* Dolce Pizza: Fried House-Made Pizza Dough with Sugar and Cinnamon – $7.50

While the dough balls work for the savory dish, they fail here. The portion sizes of the dough balls are larger for this dessert, and we wish they were smaller because they are so chewy.

The cinnamon sugar topping isn’t bad, but if we wanted that, we’d rather just eat a churro.

*NEW* Farfelle Salmone Affumicato: Farfalle Pasta with Smoked Salmon and Cream Sauce – $10.00

There’s a great sauce-to-noodle ratio happening in this dish, which allows each noodle to be covered in sauce. And we actually didn’t hate it!

The sauce is similar to an Alfredo sauce, but lighter because there’s no cheese in it.

We didn’t find this dish to be fishy, despite the salmon that’s in it, but it’s very light on the palate which we appreciate.

*NEW* Torta Caprese: Flourless Chocolate Torta with Chocolate Sauce and Vanilla Cream – $8.50

Unlike the Mexican spiced cookie from Nochebuena Cocina, this has a brownie consistency that melts in your mouth instead of being thick and chewy.

The chocolate sauce on top reminds us of Hershey sauce. Chocolate lovers will like this.

Overall, we usually hate the food from Italy booths but none of these offerings are terrible! We were pleasantly surprised.

Italian White Sangria – $12.00

Usually, when a Sangria beverage of this price contains more juice than wine, we would complain. However, since the wine in this drink tasted particularly cheap and unpleasant, in this case it was somewhat of a relief. The drink was supposed to contain Prosecco, however this was unidentifiable from the lack of fizz in the drink.

Italian Red Sangria – $12.00

Have you ever put red wine in the microwave? That’s what this is. We thought sangria came with ice and fruit, but this was just a room temperature liquid. The flavor was fruity, so it could have been really good, but as it got hotter, it was just too warm to drink.

Italian Margarita with Tequila and Limoncello – $12.00

The margarita was quite good as it tasted almost like a melting lemon ice dessert. However, there didn’t seem to be much liquor in the drink, as we didn’t taste much besides the faint hint of tequila. Overall, this is a tasty drink, but don’t expect to get much alcohol for your money here.

Peroni Pilsner (5.1% ABV) – $6.50 for 6 oz., $11 for 12 oz.

Peroni Brewery describes their beer as “a crisp and refreshing beer with a delicate balance of bitterness, citrus and spicy aromatic notes, combined with a fast and clean finish.”

Tuscany Holiday Kitchen is located adjacent to the Italy Pavilion on World Showcase Promenade.

The 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will be running from November 24 to December 30, 2023.
