In honor of the gingerbread giraffe (or “Gingeraffe”) displayed in the lobby of Jambo House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, the returning Gingeraffe Cookie is available at The Mara.
Gingeraffe Cookie – $6.79
Sugar cookie, gingerbread cookie, white chocolate M&M’s chocolate candies, and a holiday wreath
The treat depicts Ginger the giraffe wearing a green wreath with a red bow on her neck, and standing in front of a palm tree decorated with yellow garland and red ornaments.
It comes in a plastic bag with a sticker listing ingredients.
The ginger does not snap in either texture or flavor. The cookie is soft and the flavor is subtle. There is no difference in taste between the giraffe and the palm tree.
The decorations on the tree are candy-covered chocolate and the wreath is your standard icing. They are the only strong flavors on the treat.
Because the cookie isn’t very sweet, it could be a quick breakfast option and would pair wonderfully with a nice cup of coffee or hot chocolate.
An adult could probably eat one but children could share. It’s great for those who like soft cookies, but not if you are expecting something with more flavor — or if you’re afraid of giraffes.
