Traveling through the Orlando International Airport and need some holiday merchandise? Earl the Squirrel has landed at MCO and has everything you need to be merry and nutty this season, thanks to a new Universal Holiday pop-up shop that has appeared at the airport, decked out for the season. Welcome to sunny Earl-Lando!
Universal Holiday Pop-Up Shop at Orlando International Airport
Universal debuted a Halloween Horror Nights pop-up show at the airport this year and now a new theme has arrived.
This store is extremely themed and carries over a bit of the Tribute Store spirit right into the airport. Take a look around the new shop.
“Right this way!” “Open 4 Bizniz!” signs direct guests towards the entrance to the store. The “Universal Studios” logo has been modified with an acorn with wings in the center. The plane circling the acorn is piloted by Earl the Squirrel and Gerg the Llama.
Earl the Squirrel is an icon for the holiday season at the Universal Orlando Resort, based on a real squirrel, and Gerg is a recurring character featured in the Tribute Store.
Inside the store, a giant squirrel statue welcomes guests. This squirrel has previously been seen in the holiday Tribute Store in the park, but is displayed in the pop-up at the airport this season. The HHN bear statue was displayed here in the airport pop-up for the Halloween season.
There’s a photo op with Aviation Earl and Earl’s Flying Air Circus.
The merchandise location is small, but there’s an incredible amount of detail packed into the space.
There are a lot of Easter eggs hidden about for Universal fans and plenty of holiday cheer. The lights and garland look great among Earl’s chaos.
The amount of detail that has gone into this pop-up location is amazing. If you’re at MCO and have time to stop into the store, we highly recommend it, especially if you’re a fan of Earl the Squirrel.
A bomber jacket, propeller, and backpacks are hanging on the walls. Posters, charts, and bumper stickers also fill the space here. You may recognize several of these infamous locations from past Tribute Stores.
You’ll notice clocks on the wall labeled for Japan, Singapore, Beijing, Orlando, and Hollywood — each of these is a Universal Studios theme park location. There’s also a clock for the time in the North Pole.
This pop-up shop will be open throughout the holiday season, so you can deck your family out in this season’s merchandise as soon as you arrive or grab a last-minute gift before you leave. Be sure to check this store out if you’re passing through the airport and don’t forget to visit the Holiday Tribute Store at Universal Studios Florida.
