RunDisney revealed their two 2024 Coast to Coast Challenge medals on Instagram on Monday. These medals are for guests who complete a half marathon distance or greater at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort this runDisney season. The challenge is back alongside the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend for the first time since 2017.
2024 runDisney Coast to Coast Challenge Medals
The first medal is shaped like a silver suitcase with “Coast to Coast” in black lettering on yellow and blue squares. “Race Challenge” is below in white cursive on blue rectangles. The runDisney, Walt Disney World, and Disneyland Resort wordmarks are all embossed, along with “2024.”
Two spinning medallions in the top left and bottom right corners show the resort’s iconic castles and the Mickey Mouse runDisney logo. Silhouettes of Florida and California are in the other corners.
The strap is black with “Coast to Coast Race Challenge” printed in a similar design as the medal.
This medal is presumably for the track one challenge, which requires completing the half marathon during the 2024 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend and at least one of the following:
- 2024 Walt Disney World Half Marathon
- 2024 Walt Disney World Marathon
Multi-event challenges (Dumbo Double Dare, Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge, and Dopey Challenge) also count towards qualification for the runDisney Coast to Coast Race Challenge medal.
The other medal is a bronze medallion with the “Coast to Coast Race Challenge” design against yellow and blue blocks in the center. The runDisney wordmark and stars are in white around the challenge name. Two medallions show the castles in color and bronze images of the Mickey running logo. The strap is blue.
Track two requires completing the half marathon or challenge during either the 2024 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend or the 2024 Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend, plus any qualifying event at Walt Disney World Resort in 2024, including:
- Disney Princess Half Marathon or Disney Fairy Tale Challenge
- runDisney Springtime Surprise 10-Miler or runDisney Springtime Surprise Challenge
- Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon or Disney Two Course Challenge
The 2024 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is January 3 – 7, 2024, while the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend is just a week later on January 11 – 14. Registration for the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend sold out within 90 minutes when it opened in February.
