Jurassic Park at Universal Islands of Adventure offers a variety of experiences, from wild rides on VelociCoaster to mild meet and greets with baby dinosaurs. The Discovery Center is a great place for all dinosaur lovers, giving guests the opportunity to meet some of the Jurassic Park Geneticists and even watch a raptor egg hatch. These experiences have created many great memories for guests over the years, so it’s unfortunate that one of these experiences is ending permanently. Guests will no longer be able to meet the baby triceratops in Jurassic Park.

The baby triceratops meet and greet involved a pair of Team Members, with one carrying a “live” baby triceratops. Guests could get up close and personal with the dino while these Team Members roamed the area. The level of theming and detail these Team Members put into every interaction created many great memories. Sadly, this encounter will no longer be offered and has been ended permanently.

No official reason was given for the triceratops meet and greet ending, but rumors suggest it could be to cut costs on staffing and maintaining the puppet.

The Jurassic Park Discovery Center is dated in many ways, but the Team Members are what really make this one of the best spots in the park. Running into a baby triceratops was a great way to create special moments for guests, so it’s disappointing that this interaction has ended. If you’re lucky, you may be able to catch a dinosaur egg hatching and name one of the new raptors, but this seems to be happening less and less as well.
