Three Disneyland Resort rides are set to close for refurbishment projects beginning in January 2024.

Sailing Ship Columbia Refurbishment

The Sailing Ship Columbia at Disneyland will be closed from January 8 through January 11.

Right now, the ship is operating from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. After it reopens on January 12, as sunset begins shifting earlier in the day, the Sailing Ship Columbia will remain open until 5 p.m. The ship is also liable to close due to adverse weather.

Grizzly River Run

Grizzly River Run at Disney California Adventure will also be closed beginning on January 8. A reopening date for the water ride is not currently listed. The Disneyland Resort calendar currently goes through January 24, 2024.

Grizzly River Run was last closed for refurbishment in February and March 2023.

Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind

Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind will close on January 22. A reopening date is also not listed for the Pixar Pier ride. It last closed for refurbishment in January 2023.

As outdoor and water rides, it makes sense for Sailing Ship Columbia, Grizzly River Run, and Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind to close during the colder months and after the busy holiday season. We may see similar refurbishment projects on other rides in the coming weeks.
