REVIEW: NEW Snowman Choux and Present Peppermint Brownie Pop Are Cute Sweets For The Season at Walt Disney World

Guests looking for a seasonal sweet treat while staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa have a Snowman Choux and Present Peppermint Brownie Pop to sample at Gasparilla Island Grill.

Snowman Choux – $6.99

We saw the sweater-themed display for this dessert has a cute choux paste snowman in the stock photo.

In the display, treats even cuter than the image lined a tray, fit for a cute social media post for the lucky guest who picks one up.

The snowman we received didn’t have a scarf, but we think he’s cute even without the accessory.

The bottom of the snowman is filled with chocolate Bavarian cream.

The ratio was generous, with lots of Bavarian cream in the choux paste shell.

The snowman choux’s head is filled with spiced mousse, and was a less generous fill than the base’s Bavarian cream.

We felt that this is far and beyond one of the most photogenic treats at Walt Disney World this holiday season, even without the tiny scarf.

We thought the spiced mousse inside the snowman choux head was subtle and not overpowering, with just enough spice to give you that warm, holiday feeling. The Bavarian cream in the bottom half of the snowman is very thick and very tasty. We thought the whole dish might be nicer if the two were swirled together in both halves of the snowman.

The snowman choux paste was an excellent texture. The top hat is made from chocolate and has a creamy, thick chocolate ganache-like filling. On the whole, we thought the treat was delicious and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys choux pastry and cream fillings. The treat was soft, so if someone enjoys a bit more of a crunch, they may want to skip this one

We enjoyed this snowman choux, but felt it was more photogenic than tasty. We’d give it a 6.2/10, since there are lots of great treats available at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa that might satisfy your sweet cravings better.

The stock photo for the Present Peppermint Brownie pop shows a very cute treat.

The treats in person look similarly tasty.

Our present looked good enough to go under the tree in the lobby as a gift…but we thought it would be better to eat it instead.

Inside, the treat had a thick, rich brownie stuffed with a house-made peppermint patty.

The present peppermint brownie pop is a fun holiday treat and also looks great in a photo. It is, however, a very rich and heavy treat. The brownie is thick and moist, just as you would expect and want in a brownie pop.

The peppermint is very strong and reminded us of a York peppermint patty, but bigger. The white chocolate does help kick back some of the peppermint, but this is definitely a treat intended for the peppermint lovers of the world. The brownie itself offers a little crunch so the treat doesn’t all just melt away in your mouth. It’s a good treat, but it’s a rich one. Be quick about eating it on the stick if that’s your plan; between the Florida heat and the weight of the pop, it won’t stay together for long.

We would give this photogenic pop 6.8/10, and would still recommend other treats while you’re visiting Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
