The popular Disney’s Hollywood Studios roller coaster closed for refurbishment earlier this year in February and did not reopen until May 26. During this closure, rumors surfaced of retheming or major changes taking place — even the replacement of Aerosmith — but none of these rumors came to pass. Instead, the ride reopened unchanged, with just some signed artwork missing from the ride’s exit hallway.

During that refurbishment, work was performed on the coaster track and inside the gravity building. There was also a general paint refresh. The aging, yet complicated launch system has reportedly been the cause of extensive maintenance over the years, but it is unknown if this early 2024 refurbishment will address this.
