Expression Section

The booth for the Expression Section paint distribution.

A staple of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, the mural is a collaborative effort, where every guest does their part to paint a portion of the mural.

Expression Section is open each day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you’re exiting Journey into Imagination with Figment, make a right and follow the path to where it forks. Then stay to your right and you’ll find the mural.

Two people hold up their foam paintbrushes and small paint containers.

The activity is free to guests, and each guest is given a foam paintbrush and a numbered container of paint.

A person paints their numbered squares in the Expression Section.

Once you have your paint, you’ll look for squares with the corresponding number, then fill in a few of those squares.

A look at all four murals that will be painted in the Expression Section over the duration of the festival.

There are currently four murals set to be painted during the Festival, which runs from January 12 to February 19. The first is a pixelated depiction of three of EPCOT’s neighborhoods: World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery. The second features abstract illustrations of Figment, the Festival’s mascot.

The third is a landscape view of World Showcase. Finally, the fourth is a visual representation of each of EPCOT’s annual festivals: International Festival of the Arts, International Flower & Garden Festival, International Food & Wine Festival, and International Festival of the Holidays.

The small print handed out to participants which details the completed mural.

Guests are also given a small print of the mural they worked on. Above is a look at what the first mural will look like once fully painted.
