As the Celebration Crews are a new offering, it could take some time before we see Spirit Jerseys completely disappear. Even this week, new Spirit Jerseys for both adults and youth were released.

  1. Kinda funny how they’re replacing it because of high production costs. Did the workers from the Chinese sweatshop they come from manage to get a 5 cent pay raise? Given that all Disney merch comes from China I don’t see how production costs could be too high.

    • Not everyone is from Florida. We love 5he spirit jerseys. You can purchase sweatshirts just about anywhere unlike the spirit jerseys. What next phase out the Doomey and Bourne purses for the Walmart bags?

  2. What I like about the Spirit Jerseys are the more airy style of them and the fact they don’t fit as tightly as sweatshirts. I often wear “aloha” style shirts (like RSVLTS, camp shirts, etc.) to Disneyland during warmer weather. Those shirts are made to be worn un-tucked. During the spring months is can get cool at night and if you put on a regular sweatshirt the un-tucked shirt underneath hangs below the bottom of the sweatshirt. But a Spirit Jersey covers the entire shirt.

The other point is— Why do they cost more to manufacture? Maybe the material costs more? But if that is the case, just charge more for them. People buy them in droves even as the price has increased. I cannot see Disney getting rid of such a popular item.
