Those wanting to get a closer look at the early days of Walt Disney are welcome to visit his first home via a virtual tour from The Walt Disney Birthplace.
Through the self-guided virtual tour, visitors can click around the front, porch, entry, parlor, dining room, kitchen, landing, Walt and Roy’s room, Herbert and Raymond’s room, main bedroom, and nursery.
Located at 2156 N. Tripp Ave. in the Hermosa area of Chicago, Illinois, The Walt Disney Birthplace opened its doors to in-person tours of the home in October of 2023. Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 on the second floor of the home. Originally purchased as just land in 1891, Walt’s mother, Flora, drew up the plans for the home, and Walt’s father, Elias, built it. The family moved in in 1893 and remained there until they moved to Marceline, Missouri in 1906. The Walt Disney Birthplace owners are currently raising money to restore and preserve more of the historic home.
