Disney VoluntEARS were the top fundraisers at the 2024 Paws in the Park event hosted by Pet Alliance of Great Orlando. The 30th annual event took place this past Saturday at Lake Eola Park. Among the over 300 Disney Cast Members in attendance was Carol and her dog Moses, who she adopted at Paws in the Park five years ago.

Carol and Moses have attended Paws in the Park ever since she adopted him.

I’m so grateful that Disney gives us cast members the opportunity to volunteer and give back to our community. I would have never met Moses if not for this special event, and I’m just so thankful he came into my life five years ago. I love bringing him back to Paws in the Park every year to join our Disney team and help even more pets in Florida.

Paws in the Park activities include a costume contest, with guests often dressing up to match their pets. There is also the SwiftPaws lure course, dock diving, and a doggie psychic.

In addition to the costume contest, dogs and their owners participate in the best trick contest, pet and person lookalike contest, and sit/stay contest.

The Walt Disney World fundraising team is known as the “Disney Dogs” and raised almost $10,000 this year for Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, which helps Central Florida animals find homes. Disney has been the top fundraiser for 15 of the last 17 Paws in the Park events.

One of the best parts of the Disney Cast Life is unique experiences we get to participate in outside of the resort and in our community. For decades, Paws in the Park has been a favorite for our cast, myself included. It’s one of the best ways to spend time together with our Florida family, all while giving back to pets that need our help.

Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando raised a total of $202,698.00 during Paws in the Park this year, reaching 115 percent of their goal.
