Prince Charming Regal Carrousel in Magic Kingdom is getting some work done, with multiple panels on the canopy, which feature art of “Cinderella,” covered.

Themed scrim covers canopy panels on Prince Charming Regal Carrousel.

Two of the panels of the carrousel are currently covered, with the scrim designed to replicate the look of the canopy, making them less noticeable. Coincidentally, the carrousel unexpectedly closed at almost this exact time last year, due to technical difficulties.

Going around the canopy are different scenes from Disney’s 1950 animated film, “Cinderella.” The scrim, however, has blank spaces where those scenes are on display underneath. The attraction remains open during the update, as it appears this will likely be a quick fix.

In the photo above, you can get a look at what the uncovered panels look like, with Cinderella Castle and the clock striking midnight on the night of the ball shown in two different areas.

Prince Charming Regal Carrousel is an opening day attraction at Walt Disney World, though it was called Cinderella’s Golden Carrousel when the park opened in 1971. The carrousel was built long before the park opened, in 1917 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Co. Today, it features 90 wood-carved horses and one chariot. Located right behind Cinderella Castle, the attraction is a Fantasyland staple.
