Guests visiting Universal Studios Florida this spring will want to be prepared, as the E.T. Adventure is set to close for a refurbishment starting May 5. Thankfully, this is only temporary as the closure is expected to last through May 16. Things are always subject to change, but as of now, the E.T. Adventure is expected to reopen on May 17.

E.T. Adventure has gotten several minor changes as of late, which have enhanced the experience. Earlier this year, we spotted new color-changing lights added to the attraction and have noticed that many of the animatronics are working better than ever. E.T. has more fluid movements and several characters that haven’t been moving lately are now fully operational. Rumors suggest that even more enhancements and improvements are coming soon, which may be the reason for the closure.

The area as a whole has been impacted by the construction going on in the nearby DreamWorld Land, which is set to open this summer. An official opening date has not been announced for DreamWorks Land, but we expect it could be early summer, considering that the new Trolls Trollercoaster is already testing. With the new DreamWorks Land opening soon, E.T. Adventure is likely getting refreshed to keep up with the new neighbors.
