A new permit reveals that work will soon begin on a project at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The permit application, filed with South Florida Water Management District is for four Walt Disney Imagineering trailers and one additional contractor trailer along with 363 parking spaces. Additionally, the permits outline a road that leads from the trailer area to Dinoland U.S.A.
The trailer space in the permit is located behind Kali River Rapids and Maharaja Jungle Trek in an area that is “backstage” and not accessible for guests.
The road leading down toward Dinoland U.S.A. (seen in the bottom portion of the Project Location area) is notable, as blue sky concepts presented by Josh D’Amaro at last year’s Destination D23 suggest that Disney has plans to make major changes to the area.
The ideas presented include replacing the DINOSAUR attraction with an Indiana Jones attraction, and turning Dinoland U.S.A into a Tropical Americas land, featuring new experiences themed to “Encanto.”
