Disney has announced details of the 2024 Disney Earth Day Celebration at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, including special Earth Month Magic Shots, Animation Experience classes, and a Wilderness Explorer badge.
Earth Month Magic Shots
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is offering five new Magic Shots for Earth Month 2024. Disney PhotoPass photographers throughout the park can superimpose characters and other elements into photos. The Magic Shot pictured above features Flit from “Pocahontas.” This will be by Discovery River between Africa and Asia.
This Magic Shot puts Heimlich from “A Bug’s Life” right on your finger. It will be available at most PhotoPass locations in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Another Magic Shot sees Flit flying next to guests as they hold a compass prop and the “colors of the wind” blow past them. This will be available by the Discovery River between Africa and Asia.
In a fourth Magic shot, Pocahontas’ friend Meeko looks down at guests. The last Magic Shot sees guests holding a pot with the Tree of Life appearing to grow out of it. These will also be by the Discovery River between Africa and Asia.
A returning Wall-E and Eve Magic Shot is at the park entrance.
These join more than 20 other Magic Shots available year-round at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The Disney PhotoPass Service Facebook page offers a guide to current Disney’s Animal Kingdom Magic Shots.

The Animation Experience at Conservation Station
From April 1 through 30, guests who attend the 25-minute Animation Experience class will learn to draw characters like Dumbo, Terk, Crush, Bruce, Tigger, and Simba.
Wilderness Explorers Badge
A special Wilderness Explorer badge will be available at Disney’s Animal Kingdom from April 21 through 28. Guests can visit the Wilderness Explorer station on Discovery Island to get started completing activities and earning badges.
Character Experiences and Entertainment
Walt Disney World states there will be “special sightings of Disney Characters” from April 21 to April 28.
Mickey and Minnie meet year-round at Adventurers Outpost. Donald, Daisy, Chip, Dale, and Goofy meet in DinoLand U.S.A. Moana is at Character Landing. Other characters appear on the Discovery Island Character Cruise.
