Disney shared a new look at the Signature Suites in the Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris, which are inspired by “Sleeping Beauty,” “Cinderella,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Tangled,” and “Frozen.” The Disneyland Hotel reopened earlier this year following a royal reimagining.

Disney Parks Blog spoke to Imagineer Sophie Coudré about the resort’s immersive suites, which were developed alongside the artists and storytellers on Disney Animation’s Creative Legacy team, with help from the Walt Disney Animation Research Library.
Sophie Coudré is a Set Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering. Some of her work also appears at the Disney Hotel New York, The Art of Marvel in Disneyland Paris.
“Sleeping Beauty,” “Cinderella,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Tangled,” and “Frozen” were chosen not only because they are fan favorites but also because they offer the opportunity to explore a variety of cultural backgrounds and architectural elements.
The Disneyland Hotel team studied the animation of each film and collaborated with Disney Animation to ensure each suite accurately represented the respective movie.
The team turned scenes into sketches of the space and then created 3D models.
They chose appropriate materials to reflect the correct time and location of each film, like medieval France for “Sleeping Beauty” and Scandinavia for “Frozen.” Then it was time for the manufacturing stage.
Disney calls these the “most immersive suites yet” at Disneyland Paris featuring iconic elements from each film. Pictured above is the Enchanted Rose from “Beauty and the Beast.”
A triangular stained glass window features a snowflake design in the “Frozen” suite. Guests will also see Cinderella’s glass sleeper and Rapunzel’s glowing Sundrop flower in their respective suites.
Aurora’s iconic dress is in a display case in the “Sleeping Beauty” suite. It even changes from pink to blue.
The Walt Disney Animation Research Library provided the foundation for the artwork inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios films. Imagineering worked closely with Disney Animation to craft each new piece in the precise style of the respective film.
Imagineering also partnered with local artisans. Traditional French techniques were woven into the process. They worked with a sculptor on Cinderella’s shoe and Beast’s rose. The tapestries in the “Frozen” suite are similar to those in a medieval castle.
When Disney Parks Blog asked Sophie what details you can’t miss in the Signature Suites, she insisted you have to see everything — from details in the furniture to the mice from “Cinderella” to Pascal’s dress. Sophie does have a special place in her heart for “Sleeping Beauty” and says waking up in a bed surrounded by medieval architecture and Aurora’s dress is a dream come true.
