Pixar Fest Banners

There are several banners inspired by different Pixar films: “Turning Red,” “Coco,” “The Incredibles,” “Cars,” “Toy Story,” and more. Each banner has a retrofuturism background design with four-pointed stars and colorful panels.

Miguel is pictured playing his grandfather’s white guitar on the “Coco” banner. Dante is next to him. Héctor and Imelda are also featured.

The “Inside Out” banner features the first film’s five emotions: Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust. The upcoming “Inside Out 2” will introduce more emotions like Anxiety.

Lastly, a “Toy Story” banner features Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear, and two aliens. The Pizza Planet truck, which has appeared as an Easter egg in every other Pixar film, is in the top right corner.

Fantasyland Theatre

A look at Pixar Fest decorations at the Fantasyland Theatre.

Fantasyland Theatre will be home to the interactive Pixar Pals Playtime Party during Pixar Fest. Construction walls surround the theater but new Pixar decorations are visible around the stage’s proscenium. Runners covered in multi-colored rectangles hang above and to the sides.

The Fantasyland Theatre most recently featured “Tale of the Lion King,” which closed permanently in January. The “Lion King” paneling remains on the wooden proscenium.

Panels featuring the yellow Pixar ball with a red star in the center are on the tops of wood columns.

From a Disneyland Railroad train, we saw construction materials in the stage area. A cherry picker was parked in front of the stage for crew members to install decorations above.

So far, the decorations align with the concept art for Pixar Pals Playtime Party, shown above.

A Luxo Jr. medallion will be installed at the top of the proscenium. There will also be photo ops and activities in front of the stage and Pixar shorts will play on the screen.

Pixar Fest runs from April 26 through August 4, 2024.
