Following a speaker falling into a guest pathway last Friday, other speakers and their support poles have been removed from the hub in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park.
Disneyland Removes Speakers
There are usually speakers on poles throughout the flowerbeds behind railings. They are the same color green as lampposts and stage lights, so they blend in more with the surrounding trees. But there are no speakers currently in the center of the hub.
Last week, a large speaker and pole fell over into a guest pathway to the right of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The pole bent the fence below it. No injuries were reported.
There are some speakers on the outer ring of the hub. It may be that Disney determined these are less of a fall risk.
A similar incident happened last year when a lamppost fell over on Main Street U.S.A. during windy weather. The lamppost injured multiple guests.
