May 1, 2024, marks the 35th anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the park celebrated with a special ceremony on Wednesday morning.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios 35th Anniversary Ceremony
The ceremony was held at Theater of the Stars on Sunset Boulevard, the home of “Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage.” Art deco-style flats and palm trees decorated the stage with “Celebrating 35 Years!” in the center.
Miss Piggy and Kermit hosted the 15-minute ceremony, just like “Disney Holidays in Hollywood” during last year’s Jollywood Nights.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios VP Jackie Swisher and Walt Disney World Ambassador Serena Arvizu spoke. Serena introduced and lauded long-term Disney’s Hollywood Studios Cast Members.
The ceremony concluded with Disney characters dancing to the “Fantasmic!” score. These included Moana, Minnie, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Pluto, Belle, and Tiana.
Mickey (in his Sorcerer’s Apprentice garb) took to the stage for the end of the ceremony. More characters joined the Cast Members in front of the stage. Confetti was launched into the air as the festivities concluded.
