Pro-Palestine Protesters Arrested After Blocking Walt Disney World Highway Exit

Three protesters were arrested on Saturday, May 11, after blocking traffic on I-4, including a popular Walt Disney World exit.

The protesters were staging a demonstration in support of Palestine in light of ongoing warfare. They were holding banners and blocking exit 67 to Disney Springs on westbound Interstate-4. The exit was chosen intentionally, as the group alleges that Disney “supports genocide.”

Video of the protesters can be seen below, courtesy of local Orlando news station Fox 35.

The footage was originally posted to an Instagram story by the Central Florida Queers for Palestine. They reported that two of the three members arrested were released, but the third protester is still in custody and their bail withheld. A hearing was reportedly scheduled for this morning (Sunday, May 12), but no further update has been shared at this time.

Blocking traffic is illegal, and is not protected by the First Amendment right to protest.
