REVIEW: Disappointing Espresso Croissant Available at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

Walt Disney World has a new espresso croissant available at Riverside Mill Food Court and Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort and Intermission Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort.

We got our espresso croissant at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory.

Espresso Croissant – $5.79

This adventurous treat is aptly named, although Disney added some unexpected touches. It’s a light and flaky croissant drizzled with chocolate and dusted with espresso powder. Inside is a creamy mix of sugar and more espresso powder.

The outside is delicious — the chocolate and espresso pair perfectly on top of a buttery pastry.

The inside, however, is disappointing. The cream has the texture and consistency of grainy frosting. It’s mixed well; every bite has the same taste, but it’s very heavy in coffee flavoring.

We loved this croissant until we got a big bite of the cream. It’s weird and overpowering, making for a stark contrast to the exterior’s subtlety. If this didn’t have the cream filling, we would rate it a 7 out of 7.

The espresso croissant is one of four new flavored croissants, including the PB&J croissant, available at Walt Disney World.
