Shades of Green Resort Entrance Sign Returns After 4 Months of Construction

The Shades of Green Resort main entrance sign has finally been reinstalled at Walt Disney World. It was removed in December due to construction work in the area.

Construction work is still ongoing. But the sign has been restored on the corner of Floridian Way and W Magnolia Palm Drive. The fake rock that the sign is on was never removed.

The sign appears to be the same. It reads “Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort,” with the “h” becoming a palm tree against a yellow sun. A smaller part of the sign advertises the Palm, Magnolia, and Oak Trail golf courses.

The flowerbed around the sign is lined with a short stone wall but is currently just filled with mulch. The sidewalk right in front of the sign is closed and blocked by an orange barrier and nets.

A year ago, the walkway between Shades of Green and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort closed permanently. In October of 2023, Shades of Green began a years-long roof replacement project. The resort’s website states:

The Shades of Green Roof Replacement Project is slated to start in mid-October 2023. To minimize disruption to our guests, this project will be executed in phases, with work taking place in different sections of the hotel at different times. This approach will allow us to maintain a comfortable and enjoyable environment for our guests throughout the duration of the project.  It is anticipated to be completed by October 2025.
