Six months after we reported extensive filth buildup on the exterior of TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom, the attraction has finally been cleaned.

A dark brown, almost black substance previously covered sections of the ride’s canopy supports. The substance may have been dirt or mold. It was mostly growing in shaded areas, common for mold, which can also grow in places with excessive moisture (via CDC).

Thankfully, there are no more signs of such buildup. The attraction was washed — possibly power-washed — overnight.

There are still standard signs of wear and rust from Florida weather but the exterior of TRON Lightcycle / Run is looking much better.

The dark substance was on supports near where guests enter the show building.

TRON Lightcycle / Run opened in April of 2023. It’s a copy of the Shanghai Disneyland ride TRON Lightcycle Power Run. Read our full guide to TRON Lightcycle / Run and watch a POV video below.
