Crews have installed several new details, including a festival booth, at the EPCOT flex space near the Imagination! Pavilion. The space has previously been used for various purposes, including a playground, but has now been closed and under construction for months. Part of the refurbished space opened to hold an EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival booth.

An outdoor flex space under construction features incomplete structures, poles, and scattered materials. Sections of turf mix with bare ground patches. Trees frame the scene against a partly cloudy sky, reminiscent of EPCOT's evolving landscapes.

When we stopped by on Sunday morning, crew members were securing blankets of artificial turf in the flex space. The turf fills a large area between short concrete walls. The dirt area between the turf and a sidewalk may eventually be filled with real grass and foliage.

When we last checked on the flex space, seven large white supports had been installed, possibly for a shaded structure. Before installing a roof, crews have strung lights between the tops of the poles. They’ve also removed some of the plastic wrap from around the poles.

The flex space features lampposts with orbs on top of dark poles. The lights on the strings are in small cone-shaped structures.

Workers are laying artificial turf in a circular outdoor area with columns, surrounded by trees and machinery. String lights hang above, creating a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of EPCOT, while the building in the background hints at versatile flex space options nearby.

There are blue drums, maybe fans, attached to four of the poles. The large building to the south is the nearby restrooms, which are open. The stone kiosk is a new addition.

The kiosk has a trellis roof with fake foliage and a purple sign on the front. Though we couldn’t read the sign from a distance, we recognized the booth as Wine & Wedge from the 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. It’s an early arrival for the 2024 Food & Wine Festival, which begins in late August.
