Jungle Cruise Closing for Refurbishment This Summer at Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World as announced that the world famous Jungle Cruise, located within the Magic Kingdom, will be undergoing refurbishment beginning August 26.

According to the Walt Disney World Calendar, Jungle Cruise will be closed from August 26 through September 7. It could be closed for longer, though, as the calendar isn’t available past September 7 at the time of publication.

A park app displays closed attractions for refurbishment: Jungle Cruise at Magic Kingdom Park, Test Track, Test Track Attraction Photos, and Test Track SIMporium at EPCOT.

It is common for attractions at the parks to receive routine maintenance. We recently reported that Peter Pan’s Flight is undergoing refurbishment at this time.

Attraction Removed From Halloween and Christmas Parties

The Jungle Cruise does not appear on the attraction offerings for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This indicates that the attraction could potentially be closed through most of 2024, if not longer.

There are four versions of the Jungle Cruise operating at Disney Parks around the world. The one at Walt Disney World is the second iteration of the attraction, opening with the park in 1971. Other versions of the attraction can be found at Disneyland park, Tokyo Disneyland, and Hong Kong Disneyland.

We also recently spotted a new Jungle Cruise mug that made its way to the Emporium in Magic Kingdom.
