Crews are demolishing the Test Track interior and have removed paneling from the outdoor track for the EPCOT ride’s reimagining.

June 17 was the last day to experience “Test Track 2.0” before it closed for work. Construction walls went up and work was underway the next day. There are now four large blue dumpsters stationed outside the attraction.

Crews are filling these dumpsters with the materials they tear down from the queue. The exterior canopy and sign will also eventually be demolished and replaced.

Though the ride track is not expected to change, we did see signs of refurbishment. Paneling has been removed from the underside of the track behind one of the canopy’s supports.

Doors to the attraction were all propped open for crew members.

The construction walls also enclose nearby pathways. Two vans are parked outside the Test Track SIMporium.

Wood squares were right outside the gift shop doors when we passed by on the Monorail. Paneling has also been removed from under the track on this side.

During the reimagining, Chevrolet’s show cars are parked outside Test Track.

The ride opened in 1998, replacing World of Motion. Its first major reimagining was in 2012. Disney announced the new reimagining last year, stating it will take inspiration from World of Motion.
