Universal Studios Singapore has announced Illumination’s Minion Land, set to open at the park in Resorts World Sentosa in 2025.
Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore
This immersive new land will be Universal’s fifth Minion Land worldwide and will transport guests into the world of Illumination’s “Despicable Me” and “Minions” franchises. Guests will be able to enjoy multiple rides, including Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, and an all-new carousel attraction — Buggie Boogie — exclusive to the park.
The new land will feature three areas: Minion Marketplace, Gru’s Neighborhood, and Super Silly Fun Land.
We are thrilled to bring Illumination’s Minion Land to Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa and transport fans in Southeast Asia into the world of Illumination’s globally popular ‘Despicable Me’ franchise.
With its exciting line up of attractions, retail, and dining — some of which are exclusive to Universal Studios Singapore — Minion Land is poised to be a popular draw for both local and overseas visitors alike. Minion Marketplace
In Minion Marketplace, the Minions have found new ways to fully express their creativity through colorful storefronts. Here will be guests’ one-stop location to find Minion merchandise and sweet treats:
- Sweet Surrender – Topped with a giant jawbreaker vending machine, this candy-themed store will offer Minion-themed apparel, plush toys, housewares, confections, and more.
- Pop Store – This shop will offer the latest fashion items and trendy styles with a Minion twist.
- Fun Store – Here, guests can find all the toys and accessories they want in this toy shop run by the Minions.
Gru’s Neighborhood
Located adjacent to Minion Marketplace is Gru’s Neighborhood, where the former supervillain now lives with his family. Here, guests can experience Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, a motion simulator attraction that will take guests on a wild ride through Gru’s laboratory as they are transformed into Minions.
Super Silly Fun Land
Super Silly Fun Land, the seaside carnival seen in “Despicable Me,” is located right across the street from Minion Marketplace and Gru’s Neighborhood. This area will include rides and games, as well as themed food in a venue that offers views of the lagoon.
One of these rides is Buggie Boogie, the first-ever Minion dance party-themed carousel debuting exclusively at Universal Studios Singapore. Guests will hop aboard one of the space bugs and other silly creatures as they ride along to popular songs that have been remixed by the Minions, helmed by DJ Carl.
Other offerings in this area include:
- Silly Swirly – Take off in uniquely-styled ride vehicles as you spin and soar through the air while catching bird’s eye views of Super Silly Fun Land and the lagoon.
- Super Hungry Food Stand – This new restaurant is also exclusive to Universal Studios Singapore, and will be a larger-than-film version of the waterfront snack stand from “Despicable Me.”
- Pop-A-Nana – Guests can visit this snack kiosk for Minion-inspired popcorn flavors.
- Space Killer – This game booth will be modeled after the “Super Silly Space Killer” arcade game in “Despicable Me,” and guests can try to beat the odds to win prizes (like Agnes’ plush unicorn Fluffy).
- Ba-Na-Na CaBaNa! – This game is “flippin’ bananas,” and guests will be able to earn a reward from the Minions.
The new land will also include photo ops with the Minions, and a courtyard fountain where they can be found making mischief.
We are delighted for guests to experience Illumination’s Minion Land at yet another Universal destination around the world — Universal Studios Singapore.
The Minions are such well-loved characters and this newest land builds on the incredible storytelling from the ‘Despicable Me’ and ‘Minions’ franchises, brought to life in an exciting, immersive theme park setting. Guests are going to love this new addition.
