Despite initial confusion, the colloquially called Disney Parks panel will still likely not be live-streamed from D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. However, an in-game livestream in “Fortnite” will feature announcements about Disney and Epic Games’ partnership.
Disney & Fortnite Reveals
When announced via Variety, it was initially believed that the Horizons presentation would be livestreamed in “Fortnite.” WDWNT has since issued a correction:
Celebrate the magic of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event! This year includes Fortnite | Disney reveals live from the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase, streaming exclusively in Fortnite. Jump into Disney Horizons Live from D23 on August 10 to catch new Fortnite reveals presented live from Josh D’Amaro and a few special guests.

The “Disney Horizons Live” island will open at 7:30 p.m. PT / 10:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 10. “Fortnite” users can join the island via the Homebar in Discover or with the island code 7908-6413-2516. The livestream will begin at 8:30 p.m. PT / 11:30 p.m. ET.
D23’s Disney Parks panel hosted by Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro, “Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase”, starts at 7 p.m. PT in the Honda Center. Despite having a similar name to the Disney Parks panel and overlapping times, the “Fortnite” stream appears to just be for announcements related to the Epic Games partnership with Disney.
The full “Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase” panel will still likely not be presented to the public, though a live stream is being offered to Disney Cast Members.
As of 3:21 p.m. ET, D23 has further clarified in a post on Instagram, citing that fans can “watch a special segment of the Horizons Disney Experiences Showcase and learn more about Disney collaboration with Epic Games, reveals and more.”
Any players who visit the “Disney Horizons Live” island for 10 minutes will receive the free in-game item the Peelverine Plush Back Bling (pictured above), plus XP on August 16. The Peelverine Plush Back Bling may be available for purchase in the game at a later date.
After the live stream concludes, the presentation will continue playing on a loop until August 16.
The Disney and “Fortnite” partnership was first announced in February. Disney invested $1.5 billion in “Fortnite” developer Epic Games. They said the partnership would bring a “new games and entertainment universe focused on Fortnite.”
