Disneyland Shares New Details and Opening Date for Updated Plaza de la Familia ‘Coco’ Show

Disneyland has revealed new details for the updated Plaza de la Familia “Coco” show at Disney California Adventure, as well as its opening date.

The former show, “A Musical Celebration of Coco” will now become “The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate The Musical World of Coco!” The show will feature music from the Academy Award-winning film, including “Remember Me,” “The World Es Mi Familia,” and the Mexican folk song “La Llorona,” and more. New concept art was also released, as seen above.

The updated show will be performed several times daily at Paradise Gardens in Disney California Adventure starting August 30.

Between performances, guests will be able to take photos with the hand-animated dimensional figure of Miguel.

The Árbol de la Vida (Tree of Life) and the Memory Wall will also return. At the latter, guests can write and post personal messages to loved ones. There will also be a paper alebrije mask activity featuring Dante and Pepita, spirit guides from “Coco.”

An assortment of Mexican dishes including a burrito with red and green sauce, three tacos with diced toppings, a fried dish topped with guacamole, and a flatbread with various toppings beside rice.

Plaza de la Familia will also see a full lineup of food and beverage offerings inspired by the traditions of Día de los Muertos.

Disneyland also announced that a new merchandise collection celebrating “Coco” with apparel, accessories, drinkware, and more, will be available in early September. Items will be sold at World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District and Elias & Co. in Disney California Adventure while supplies last.
