As invited media, Primark provided WDWNT with a gift card for merchandise, so some of the following coverage was hosted. As always, WDWNT will still provide our honest thoughts on all below.
A new Primark is set to open tomorrow, August 29, at Florida Mall in Orlando. The location is less than 15 miles from Walt Disney World and will have an entire floor dedicated to Disney merchandise. Though the merchandise is not the same as what is sold at Walt Disney World, comparable items will be available at prices significantly cheaper than inside the theme park.
Disney x Primark
When guests approach Primark from the outside, they will immediately notice Mickey Mouse striking various poses in the window above the main entrance marquee.
While the new location is two stories, nearly all of the Disney merchandise is located on the second floor. To get to the Disney merchandise, guests can take escalators or an elevator.
A large display along one of the walls reads “Welcome to Florida” and “Mickey and Friends.” The display features Daisy Duck, Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, and Goofy posing with their hands behind their heads. Donald Duck has one hand behind his head, but Pluto licks his face and prevents him from raising his other arm.
Primark-exclusive Disney merchandise stretches from wall to wall. Though the store lacks the variety of a Walt Disney World or Disneyland shop, there is still plenty for shoppers to choose from. What most visitors will immediately notice is the prices. If you’re looking for inexpensive Disney merchandise, then Primark is a great option.
One of the characters predominantly featured in the initial merchandise on sale at Primark is Stitch. He appears on T-shirts, sweatpants, and more throughout the store. He even appears with Angel on a few items.
Guests will also find Stitch and Angel plushes on display. These items are only $14 at Primark, and though they aren’t the same as the ones found at Walt Disney World, they are still a good option for families looking to save money.
Shoppers will also notice some niche items. For instance, a Leroy plush is available at the store. Leroy first appears in the 2006 film “Leroy and Stitch,” a Disney channel sequel to the 2002 “Lilo and Stitch.” The film never received a theatrical release, but Leroy still has his die-hard fans.
Shoppers looking for more mainstream merchandise will find plenty of items featuring Mickey and friends. Visitors preparing for their next vacation can purchase Mickey Mouse and Friends luggage. Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald all appear on the suitcases.
The iconic characters appear on plenty of other merchandise around Primark. Shoppers can purchase ear headbands, socks, mini backpacks, jewelry, sweatshirts, shoes, T-shirts, and more. The Minnie ear headbands on display in the photo above are $6. This is nearly one-sixth the price of a similar item at Walt Disney World.
Fans of Minnie Mouse who want to show their love for the character can consider these high-top boots. Minnie strikes a pose above a glittery pink sole. The bottom of the laces on each boot features a Minnie Mouse bow. Primark’s website has these high-top boots listed as $22.
Speaking of classics, Primark has an entire collection dedicated to the 1942 animated film “Bambi.” Items in the collection include shoes, a purse, a mini backpack, and a weekender.
Guests looking for something to wear to Walt Disney World will have plenty of T-shirt options. One shirt features a few iconic Disney Villains. There are even a few shirts depicting characters that aren’t owned by Disney. This includes Hello Kitty and Bugs Bunny.
Shoppers can purchase T-shirts featuring Winnie the Pooh and his friends for just $14. T-shirts are generally $20 or more at Walt Disney World.
Fans of “The Lion King” can pick up some merchandise featuring Simba and Zazu. The animated classic is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and plenty of merchandise has been available at Walt Disney World throughout 2024.
All those shoppers hoping to pick up gear honoring their favorite superheroes can check out the floor’s Marvel section. A Spider-Man collection includes a coloring book, wastebasket, plush, luggage, and more.
Want to represent a superhero other than Spider-Man? There are also plenty of Marvel T-shirts to choose from.
