Today, executive creative director of Disney Live Entertainment, Steve Davison, announced that more drones are coming to Disney Parks. He also stated that “Luminous: The Symphony of Us” was designed to be updated.
Future of Drone Shows and ‘Luminous: The Symphony of Us’
“Luminous: The Symphony of Us” could see changes in the future. This comes after Steve Davison announced that the EPCOT nighttime spectacular was designed to be updated.
Davison’s announcement came during the Magic After Dark—The Story of Disney’s Nighttime Spectaculars panel at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. While no updates for the show are currently planned, he stressed that the show could see developments in the future.
Davison went on to discuss the future of drone usage during Disney nighttime spectaculars, saying that guests should expect to see a lot more of them in the future.
Drones are already becoming integral to nighttime spectaculars at Disney Parks around the globe. The “Disney Dreams That Soar” drone show has been performed at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World since May 24. During their July 14 Bastille Day celebration, Disneyland Paris set a new Guinness World Records title for the “Largest aerial display of a fictional character formed by multirotors/drones.”
A new nighttime spectacular with drones has already been announced for Disney Adventure World in 2026.
