New Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern Opening at Magic Kingdom Next Year

Disney shared new details and concept art for the Pirates of the Caribbean tavern coming soon to Adventureland in Magic Kingdom.

Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern

First announced at Destination D23 2023, the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern will be a “rambunctious watering hole” welcoming pirates big and small.

Disney Parks Blog stated, “Here, bandits and buccaneers-to-be from every corner of the seven seas are welcome to join together and raise a toast to the pirate life! In the newly released artwork, X marks the spot for a sea-worthy selection of grogs and grub inside this tavern location coming to Magic Kingdom Park.”

It looks like the tavern will replace the Pirate’s League, a makeover experience that never reopened following the COVID-19-related shutdowns.

The tavern will include the return of Peg-Leg Pete, a pirate parrot also known as the Barker Bird, who invited guests to Pirates of the Caribbean from 1973 to 2006.

The new Pirates of the Caribbean tavern will open in 2025.

Tortuga Tavern, the quick-service location across from Pirates of the Caribbean in Magic Kingdom, recently became “Tortuga Treasures,” a temporary gift shop. It’s not clear if the temporary change may become permanent with the new tavern or if Tortuga Tavern will return to its regular operations.
