Pueblo Esperanza, which means “Village of Hope,” is the name of the new Tropical Americas area coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced the name and details during Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. The 11-acre section of the park will replace DinoLand U.S.A., with construction happening in phases beginning later this year. Just like Harambe, the land feels lived in with a long, rich history. There’s a large hacienda, which will be one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort.

An illustration depicts a wooden carousel adorned with colorful lights, reminiscent of Dinoland USA. It is surrounded by trees and plants with string lights hanging above. People are seen walking around, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.

The lush, sprawling space will include a fountain in the center where villagers gather and tell stories. One of the attractions will be a giant working carousel created by a woodcarver. It features his favorite animals from Disney stories.

The two other attractions will be inspired by “Encanto” and “Indiana Jones.” They’re set to debut in 2027.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will also get a new show in the Tree of Life: “Zooptopia Better Zoogether” will replace “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” next year.
