Typhoon Lagoon Closing Date, Blizzard Beach Reopening Date Announced

Walt Disney World’s water parks are continuing the COVID-era tradition of only operating one park at a time, Typhoon Lagoon is set to close when Blizzard Beach reopens.

Starting November 4, Blizzard Beach will reopen and Typhoon Lagoon will close.

Since the closures of the Disney Parks during the COVID pandemic Walt Disney World has only opened one water park at a time, Disney has not announced any refurbishment work that would consistently close the parks six months at a time. Walt Dinsey World seems to believe that there’s enough capacity in one water park to handle guest demand, and only operating one team of Cast Members that can easily slide between each water park to operate both all year round.

Before the pandemic, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach would operate at the same time during Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each of the water parks would close annually for regular maintenance during the winter, so often only one would be available to guests during the winter.

  1. Will Blizzard Beach be the park open March 2025? We have never been to either but free for day of check in we are going to try it out.

  2. Putting economic reasons ahead of guest enjoyment or choice is the new Disney. It used to be what would Walt have done , now it’s who cares what Walt would do.
Look at the flurry of bizarre hotel constructions recently, cheap looking Hyatts dotted all over the place spoiling the skyline.
Build themed hotels you greedy, sonless, accountants, and open up the water parks you cheapskates!
