The sounds of a live sitar can again be heard in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. “Beats and Strings,” performs around every 20 minutes, weather permitting. It is a two-man band. One plays the tabla, the other performer plays the sitar to a backing track they have created. Both performers have culturally appropriate clothes for their performance.

People walk around and sit at a scenic outdoor area with greenery, string lights, and clear blue skies.

“Beats and Strings” can be found in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the Asia area near Feathered Friends in Flight! and before Yak & Yeti Restaurant.

Previously this stage was home to the well-known Chakranadi act. Stephan Mikes was a fan-favorite sitar performer in Disney’s Animal Kingdom until his unfortunate passing in 2023. Here is a clip of Chakranadi performing “Leap Frog” from 2021.
