Halloween food available at Universal Studios Japan this season includes Snoopy and Hami-Kuma-inspired dishes, and we were able to try a few for review.
Hami-Kuma (the undead teddy bear mascot of Halloween Horror Nights) food items are at Beverly Hills Boulangerie, while drinks are at Wharf Cafe. Snoopy Halloween menu items are at Snoopy’s Backlot Cafe.
Hami-Kuma Food
At Beverly Hills Boulangerie, we tried the Hami-Kuma Chocolate Cassis Cake inspired by the original Hami-Kuma and the Hami-Kuma Spiced Blueberry Cake inspired by Hami-Kuma Punk.
Hami-Kuma Chocolate Cassis Cake – ¥950
The Hami-Kuma Chocolate Cassis Cake is a visually striking dessert. This chocolate mousse is topped with cassis sauce and adorned with colorful toppings including a chocolate lollipop piece, making it look like a piece of art that’s almost too cute to eat.
The fluffy chocolate mousse melts in your mouth, offering a deep, rich flavor that perfectly pairs with the refreshing tartness of the cassis. The balance between sweetness and a light, clean finish is very enjoyable. Hidden inside the mousse are crunchy bits, adding a pleasant, crispy texture that contrasts with the smoothness.
The combination of the mousse’s creaminess, the cassis sauce’s slight thickness, and the added crunch creates a dynamic experience. We really enjoyed this.

Hami-Kuma Spiced Blueberry Cake – ¥950
The Hani-Kuma Spiced Blueberry Cake is not only visually striking, but delicious too. The chocolate mousse is subtly spiced, with a vibrant blueberry jam adding a pop of color. We also enjoyed the sprinkling of crunchy black pepper bits.
With the first bite, the sweetness of the chocolate takes center stage, quickly followed by the spicy kick of black pepper. The balance between the sweetness and spice is perfectly tuned, keeping the flavors interesting. The fruity tartness of the blueberry jam adds a refreshing contrast that ties the entire dessert together.
The smoothness of the mousse contrasts well with the crunchiness of the black pepper, creating a unique texture that enhances the dish. The silky texture of the blueberry jam further enriches the overall mouthfeel. This is another win in our book.

Hami-Kuma Drinks at Wharf Cafe
Wharf Cafe has one drink inspired by Hami-Kuma and another inspired by Hami-Kuma Soul.
Both come in themed plastic cups featuring their respective version of the teddy bear.
Hami-Kuma Drink – ¥800
Cola & Whipped Cream
The combination of cola and whipped cream in the Hami-Kuma Drink creates a unique contrast where the crispness of the cola blends with the sweetness of the whipped cream. As the two meld together, it creates a nice, creamy texture.
Blue curacao and jelly wait at the bottom of the cup, offering a fruity end note to the drink. The cola turns the blue curacao green when it mixes, leaning further into the “deathly” vibe of Hami-Kuma. It’s certainly Instagram-worthy.
The drink is topped with berry syrup and fruit, adding even more sweetness. The berries’ slight tartness harmonizes well with the sweetness of the cola.
Overall, the Hami-Kuma Drink is a playful beverage that is as enjoyable to look at as it is to drink. Its flavors and presentation make it a must-try for Halloween.

Hami-Kuma Soul Drink – ¥800
Vanilla & Salt
This Calpis-based drink stands out for its combination of whipped cream and a sprinkle of salt, creating an unexpected yet delicious flavor. You taste the sweet-and-tangy notes of Calpis first, then the creamy sweetness of the whipped cream. The salt adds a sharp accent and balances the overall sweetness.
Like the Hami-Kuma Drink, this beverage hides a layer of blue curacao and jelly at the bottom. When mixed with the Calpis, the drink turns a vivid green.
We also really enjoyed this drink. Both are not to be missed if you’re after a fun, spooky beverage.

Snoopy’s Backlot Cafe
Snoopy’s Backlot Cafe offers Halloween Spaghetti and the Snoopy Pumpkin Cake.
Halloween Spaghetti with Meat Sauce Meal – ¥1,650
Served with Fries and a Soft Drink
This spaghetti dish is both visually interesting and tasty. The large meatballs steal the spotlight, as they’re not just sizable, but packed with flavor. The meat sauce is hearty and clings well to the noodles.
Carrot pieces shaped like bats add a whimsical touch to the meal, further enhancing the Halloween theme. There is also what appears to be a fish cake with a design of Woodstock as a witch printed on it.
This meal will leave you satisfied, and is a fun dish to try for the spooky season.

Snoopy Pumpkin Cake – ¥650
Caramel & Cream Cheese
The Snoopy Pumpkin Cake features a caramel-flavored sponge cake topped with a smooth layer of cheese cream.
The caramel sponge cake is light yet flavorful, with a slightly buttery taste complemented by the creamy cheese topping. The cheese adds a tangy richness that balances the sweetness of the caramel.
Decorated with festive toppings, this cake not only tastes great but also looks appealing. The candy cane piece adds a touch of whimsy and a hint of peppermint crunch. Snoopy dressed as a witch is the perfect pair to Woodstock on the Halloween Spaghetti.
