A new Autopia driver’s license machine has arrived in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park, where guests can create their “License of Tomorrow.”
New Autopia Driver’s License Machine
The new Autopia driver’s license machine is more modern in its visual style. Previously, there were three booths in a row with a curtain that you would stand in front of, similar to the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) in real life. Now, there is a more convenient option in the form of a photo booth. The new booth has a bench and privacy screen with a checkered flag pattern.
One side of the machine shows a preview of what your license will look like. The iconic Disneyland “D” is in the bottom right. The issue date is also printed on the card, which makes it a great personalized keepsake from your Disneyland trip. Instead of Mickey Mouse, your picture will be shown on the left side of the card.
Inside the photo booth, there is a touch screen to assist you in personalizing your driver’s license.
The next screen shows a preview of the driver’s license again to be sure guests understand that this is not a normal photo booth with sheets of pictures that print out.
When you touch the screen, you will be prompted to either scan the QR code on the screen to pay or use the credit card machine below the screen. Accepted forms of payment include VISA, MasterCard, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
The machine does not take cash but does offer tap-to-pay options for credit cards or Apple Pay. Each driver’s license is available for $10. The driver’s license souvenir was previously priced at $8, meaning there was a $2 increase with the change in machines.
