Universal Orlando Resort has filed a permit for new entrance signs featuring major Universal franchises.
New Universal Orlando Resort Entrance Signs
News 6 reports that four new entrance signs are coming to Universal Orlando Resort soon. The new signs look like they will be much larger than the current ones and feature images from Universal franchises.
The first sign will feature Blue the velociraptor and a triceratops from “Jurassic World.” The dinosaurs appear on either side of the “Universal Orlando Resort” logo. The logo is in the middle and sits against a blue background on all four signs.
The second sign features Shrek, Donkey, and Puss in Boots from the “Shrek” franchise. They each appear in a blue sky with white clouds reminiscent of the background of the DreamWorks logo.
Another sign features Hogwarts Castle peeking out from the top of the Forbidden Forest and shrouded in fog.
The final sign depicts characters from two DreamWorks Animation franchises. The left side of the sign shows Poppy and Viva from “Trolls” and on the right side, Po from “Kung Fu Panda” poses.
The new signs will replace the current signs in the same locations:
- Turkey Lake Road and Hollywood Way
- Universal Boulevard and Hollywood Way
- South Kirkman Road and Major Boulevard
- Vineland Road and Universal Boulevard
The application for the entrance signs was received by the city of Orlando on September 23. A tentative hearing is scheduled for November 19.

These look wonderful! Do you have any photos of what the current ones look like? I’m not familiar.
Very disappointing that E.T. is not apart of this new change. It should be apart of it since it is the last remaining original opening day attraction from Universal Studios Florida. Huge miss to be honest.
I just looked at these again…are these digital displays that can each cycle through all of these designs? That would be very cool and cinematic if that’s the case.
