The walls around The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s Boardwalk are finally down. We were able to get a glimpse of the menus for both the bakery and restaurant.
The Cake Bake Shop Construction Update
At long last, the walls surrounding The Cake Bake Shop are down. In our most recent update, the white walls featuring images of desserts were still surrounding the location.
The walls have been replaced by rolling planters and green barricades.
There is an opening at the end of the restaurant that doesn’t have a barricade, so we were able to get an unobstructed view of the building. It looks like construction is all but finished, as lights are on, windows are installed, and paint has been added.
With the walls down, we were able to get our first look at the menus for both the restaurant and bakery. The menu in the above photo is for the restaurant, and there are a lot of offerings.
The top half of the restaurant menu lists breakfast and brunch offerings, as well as non-alcoholic drinks. The breakfast and brunch offerings include varieties of waffles, French toast, pancakes, eggs, breakfast cakes, quiche, croques, and croissants. There are also children’s breakfast options and alcoholic Mimosas and Bloody Marys available.
The non-alcoholic beverages include various teas, lemonades, sodas, pots of tea, milk, coffee, and espresso.
The bottom half of the menu displays all the lunch and dinner offerings, as well as a list of cocktails, champagne, wine, and beer.
The lunch and dinner offerings include Hors d’Oeuvres, sandwiches, salads, quiches, sides, soups, and entrees.
Lunch is served daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The bakery menu features pictures of cakes, as well as a list of other sweet treats available inside.
Some of the cakes pictured include the Millionaire Cake, the Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Roll Cake, and the Pumpkin Chocolate Cake.
There are also various types of homemade fudge, ice cream, and sorbet. As with the restaurant, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, such as champagne, beer, wine, coffee, tea, juice, and soda are available.
The rest of the cake pictures show Gwendolyn’s Famous Earl’s Court Chocolate Cake, Pixie Fetti Birthday Cake, Raspberry Champagne Cake, Red Velvet Cake, Carrot Cake, and Oprah’s ‘O’ List Miny Chocolate Chip Cake.
Other offerings include pies, cheesecakes, French pastries, cookies, bars, breakfast cakes, and croissants.
The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers was originally announced in early 2022. Concept art was released in late 2022, and the location was set to open in 2023. In December 2023, the location began hiring culinary leaders. In March 2024, hiring began for various other positions. Now after over two years of construction, the location looks like it’s just about ready to welcome its first customers.
An official opening date has not yet been released.

Is it just me or do those prices seem a little much? $23 for an “Egg Sandwich” and $34 for an Eggs Benedicts, and sides are extra. An average of $25 for a slice of cake… even California Grill is not that high.
I have predictions now about this place, but I will keep them to myself.
I was excited about this place. I will not be going.
You’ll absolutely go lol
Complaining about prices being too high at Disney is like complaining about water being too wet.
These prices are outrageous by Disney standards. That means they’re unreasonable by any standards.
I’m not sure if I understand the target demographic of this being at a single hotel (and not even the fanciest). It might stand a chance at Disney Springs or the Grand Floridian (with the monorail access from other overpriced hotels), but I can’t see this surviving at these prices with the pool of people it reasonably has access to being by itself behind Epcot.
The prices are obscene. $8 for a Coke?
Is is $22-$24 for the whole cake or a slice? Because $22+ for a flippin slice of cake is nuts by even Disney standards and I don’t see this place lasting long.
It’s for a slice. At the other locations, the cakes “start at” 105. Considering the discounts and overhead at Disney, I would expect that to look more like $135 here.
What gets me is the $8 root beer.
You can always buy a whole cake for $115 !!!
Cannot imagine paying that much for a layer cake with no decorations . But hey , it’s supposed to taste amazing, right !?!?!?
$8 for a glass of milk to go with your $26 piece of cake- no thank you!
If I make there I would try it but would only get one slice of cake and share it with my family it is expensive but this is wal disney world and you have alot of people that come down for vacation I wish my Valstro good like and I hope to see it someday
Been many times here in Indianapolis – perfect addition to Disney!
Perfect for families, just the right amount of magic, food/atmosphere is second-to-none.
Going to do very well!!!
(Re: the comments about the prices lol – you’ve all been to Disney, right?!)
Its a one time experience but thats all. Not even disney charges that much and although I like the menu offerings its simply not worth those prices. I live in Indpls and have wondered all along about putting this place at that location. More likely to succeed as a tea shop at the grand flo. The price for a burger and fries is unbelievable and yes i go and have gone to disney for many years and even enjoy monsieur pauls. Barbara
Why would anyone spend these prices to go out of the way to the boardwalk, when you could eat cheaper meals in an actual park or high end Disney restaurant? No thanks. Can’t believe they think they’re going to survive out pricing actual Disney World eateries. LOL
