BREAKING: Universal Orlando Announces Closures Ahead of Hurricane Milton

Ahead of Hurricane Milton making landfall in Florida this week, closures have been announced for Universal Orlando Resort.

Hurricane Milton Closures at Universal Orlando

The following closures and operational changes have been announced for Universal Orlando Resort:

Universal Orlando Resort issued a weather alert notice detailing operational changes on October 9-10, 2019, due to Hurricane Milton. The notice includes closures and cancellations to ensure guest safety.
  • Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and CityWalk will close at 2 p.m. on 10/9 and remain closed until 10/11.
  • Volcano Bay will be closed all day on 10/9 and 10/10.
  • Halloween Horror Nights is canceled for 10/9 and 10/10.

On Saturday, October 5, a State of Emergency was issued for Universal Orlando Resort. The next day, on October 6, Milton was classified as a hurricane. Hurricane Milton is now a Category 5 hurricane after becoming a Category 4 on Monday, October 7. Shortly thereafter, the National Weather Service announced a Hurricane Warning for Universal Orlando Resort, Walt Disney World, and surrounding areas.
