Along with revealing the thirteen villains that inspire the land, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro revealed some of the backstory details at D23 Brazil.
“Their evil ambitions give us endless possibilities to tell new stories. This new land will be home to the villains you know and loathe,” D’Amaro said, according to Entertainment Weekly.
D’Amaro went on to say a spell has summoned the villains to the land, and the heroes “don’t come save the day. There may not be a happily ever after!” D’Amaro didn’t elaborate on who summoned the villains or why.
The new land will include two major attractions, dining, and shopping on an incredibly twisted grand scale.
So far, details and dates have not been announced for the villain-themed land, but it’s set to be a part of the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history. Part of that expansion is also a Cars-themed land that is replacing the Rivers of America.
