Disneyland Paris announced the name and details of “Disney Tales of Magic,” a new nighttime spectacular celebrating Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios stories coming in 2025.
‘Disney Tales of Magic’ Nighttime Spectacular at Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris said the “innovative new spectacular” will blend “storytelling and cutting-edge technology to offer a truly magical and connective experience.” The 20-minute show combines pyrotechnics and fountain displays with 60 new ultra-powerful lighting fixtures, 15 ultra-bright lasers, a new architectural LED lighting package, Star Flash strobes, and a new immersive audio system.
“Disney Tales of Magic” will be the first Disneyland Paris spectacular to incorporate Main Street, U.S.A. thanks to 20 hidden high-definition LED video projectors. The street will be “transformed into an enchanting setting at times becoming a grand ballroom where Cinderella and Prince Charming waltz under the stars, a colorful Colombian village brought to life by the magic of the Madrigal family, rows of vibrant emotion-filled memory spheres inside Riley’s mind, and many more iconic Disney Animation and Pixar worlds.” Disneyland in California and Magic Kingdom in Florida have both used Main Street as a canvas for projection mapping in recent years.
Featured Disney and Pixar Animation stories include “Pinocchio,” “Cinderella,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Lion King,” “Lilo & Stitch,” “Encanto,” “Coco,” “Inside Out,” “Toy Story,” and “WALL-E.”
It will “celebrate the magic within each of us, evoking universal emotions tied to pursuing dreams, embarking on new adventures with friends, love, memories of loved ones, and the feeling of belonging to a group, a clan, or simply a family. Driven by a powerful, intergenerational story, it will encourage everyone to relive the magical, unforgettable moments that have marked their lives. “
The complex show programming required over 17,500 hours of work. Disneyland Paris hired London-based NorthHouse to achieve unprecedented projection quality and bring the immersive visual experience to life.
The show will also continue the Disneyland Paris tradition of using drones operated by Dronisos to create 3D figures in the sky.
The show’s soundtrack was composed exclusively for the production and features over 20 custom arrangements of iconic Disney and Pixar tracks. The main theme is “Live in Magic,” an original song composed by Noémie Legrand, Tony Ferrari, and Lucky West. It is performed in French and English by Legrand, accompanied by a 100-piece orchestra recorded at Air Studios in London.
At Disneyland Paris, we’ve always strived to push the boundaries of what’s possible in nighttime entertainment, and ‘Disney Tales of Magic’ takes that vision even further. Our teams have crafted something truly magical, an experience that will captivate and inspire guests for years to come. Building on our legacy of innovation, creativity, and storytelling, we’re excited for this show to become a lasting part of the story of Disneyland Park.
