BREAKING: Name, Opening Timeframe, and Concept Art Released for New Disney Vacation Club Lounge at Magic Kingdom

Disney Vacation Club released details about their new member lounge currently under construction at Magic Kingdom. Announced this summer, the lounge replaces the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade. Disney previously said it would be “inspired by the bygone era of exploration and adventure.”

We now know the lounge will be called Disney Vacation Club McKim’s Mile House — A Member Lounge. The space will offer “a cozy and convenient retreat for Members to share stories and recharge during their day of fun.” Guests can enjoy “the rustic charm of a space inspired by the adventurous spirit of exploration from a bygone era.”

The space is named for Disney Legend Sam McKim, who joined Disney in 1954 following layoffs at Fox. At Disney, he created inspirational sketches for Disneyland, among which were Slue Foot Sue’s Golden Horseshoe Revue in Frontierland.

Concept art depicts a warm space with tables, chairs, and a stone fireplace. Highlights include:

  • Comfortable seating
  • Complimentary soft drinks
  • A children’s entertainment area
  • Wi-Fi
  • Charging cords available upon request on a first-come, first-served basis
