REVIEW: Chicken Enchilada Soup, Iced Peppermint Chocolate, and More From Rancho del Zocalo for Disneyland Holidays

Shannen Ace

During the Disneyland holiday season, Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante is offering three new items — Chicken Enchilada Soup, Tinga Enchiladas, and Iced Mexican Peppermint Chocolate — and the returning Chocolate Cake Flan.

A tray at Rancho del Zocalo features enchiladas, rice, beans, a chocolate drink, a bowl of soup with a lime wedge, and a small dessert on a wooden table.

These are available through January 7, 2025.

*NEW* Chicken Enchilada Soup – $11.99

with Curtido Slaw, Diced Onions, Cilantro, Cheese Flauta and Lime Wedge

A bowl of orange soup with a mini spring roll, shredded cabbage, and a lime wedge, all served on a brown tray reminiscent of Rancho del Zocalo's southwest charm, sits next to a drink topped with whipped cream and sprinkles.

There were no spoons available so we used a fork to eat this soup. Luckily it’s chunky — and tastes exceptional. It’s nothing crazy, just a bowl of cheese with chicken, but it’s delicious. It’s seasoned well with a nice spice.

*NEW* Tinga Enchiladas – $16.49

Cheese Enchiladas, Chicken Tinga, Pablano Crema, Queso Fresco, Rice, Beans, and Curtido Slaw.

At Rancho del Zocalo, enjoy a delightful dining experience with a plate of enchiladas topped with onions and sauce, served with refried beans and rice. Complete your meal with a rich chocolate milkshake.

The chicken is exceptional but the enchiladas are too hard and crispy. We wish they were cooked better. The rice and beans are great, as always at Rancho.

Chocolate Cake Flan – $7.49

Chocolate Cake and Flan, topped with Caramel Sauce, Whipped Cream and Cinnamon Dust

A three-layer dessert topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings sits on a small blue plate, surrounded by portions of rice and soup on a red tray, reminiscent of a delightful meal at Rancho del Zocalo.

This is also available at Paradise Garden Grill in Disney California Adventure for ¡Viva Navidad! It’s much better here. It’s fresher. The cake is moist and soft. It’s still pretty basic but an improvement.

*NEW* Iced Mexican Peppermint Chocolate – $7.99

Cold Hot Chocolate, Whipped Cream, Crushed Peppermint and Chocolate Shavings

A plastic cup of chocolate milkshake topped with whipped cream and crushed candy canes sits on a wooden table at Rancho del Zocalo, next to a bowl of creamy soup inspired by Mexican cuisine.

We love cold “hot” chocolate and this is spectacular. It has a hint of peppermint without being overpowering. Everything is just right. It’s basic but still deserves our highest rating.
